Comment: At the robotayaki restaurant, my first stop in Osaka. They cook in front of you and the chef passes the food to on a long wooden paddle.
Japan Rail Line train which I took from the airport to downtown Osaka. Pretty much the same as trains elsewhere, but quite clean, as I expected. * 2048 x 1536 * (560KB)

It's hard to capture the chaos on camera, but stations were often very crowded with interweaving crowds. * 2048 x 1536 * (520KB)

In the Kita business district, I looked up to see a large Ferris wheel above the mall complex. * 1536 x 2048 * (546KB)

I tried to get a shot of the city out the window with the flower reflecting in the glass, but neither the lighting nor my camera settings were right. * 1536 x 2048 * (547KB)

The capsule hotel where I stayed the first two nights. For about $35/night I got to crawl into this comfortable little hole (which even has a little TV folded against the wall!), and have access to their super-sweet sauna with cold and hot baths and steam rooms. Not a bad deal, but the complete lack of privacy would make this place a bit uncomfortable for the ladies. I didn't say anything that said guys only, but I only saw men staying there. * 2048 x 1536 * (597KB)
